Durham Haus Working Dogs of ArkansasWhen You Say Dog - Say Durham! The Official Website of Durham Haus Working Dogs of Arkansas since 1996Bird Dog Program
Today the bird dog is the number one dog. The
Lab has proven to be a versatile dog, capable of doing the doggie
possible. Chores of being a seeing eye dog to the duties
proving his outstanding abilities as a sporting, hunting and competition
dog.
A lot of these nice dogs aren't trained to their abilities due to the
fact that their owners can't find the proper trainer to assist them in
certain idiosyncrasies that he and his Labrador encounter.
Among the thousands of dogs that I've trained over the years, the Labrador
Retriever, along with Golden Retrievers, I find that I do more different
types of training to these dogs than with any other breed. It
is not hard to see the reason why I have so many different training
programs for the Labradors and the Goldens.
Here is a list of some of the training programs available for retrievers:
Blood Dog - used to track wounded deer while hunting Drug Dog - used for police support in finding illegal substances Obedience - used for competition and everyday companionship Retrieving - trained to assist his K-9 handler in bringing back the ducks or birds while hunting Service Dog - used to assist the handicapped Tracking dog - used for locating suspects or lost people
And many other training categories are available at your request.
Don't wait a year before you start your retriever. These
dogs, although late bloomers, need to be started properly. It
is amazing what a properly trained retriever is like.
