Police Department Services Offered

  • Bomb and Explosive Detection Dog Training
  • Building Search
Building searches by a well trained utility dog can eliminate dangerous encounters for many officers.   Those officers that have been in this type of predicament already know the importance of having a search done by a K-9.
  • Drug Detection Dog Training and Certification
  • Patrol Dog Training
The intimidation factor of having a good patrol dog has been known to stop a situation before it starts.
  • Security Dog Training
  • Survival Tactical Training
  • Tracking Dog Training
  • Utility Dog Training
The utility drug dog used by Law departments has proven to be cost effective and very efficient.   The versatility of the utility drug dog has helped numerous departments in many ways.   The ability to track a suspect hours after they had fled the crime scene. The ability to detect marijuana, crack, cocaine, methanphetamine, heroin and money has helped many Law departments, cities and counties fight the war on drugs.   Along with the monetary advantages for having such an asset with the department.
One good utility drug dog takes the place of five manpower hours.
  • And combinations of the above items

Our Canine Program is designed to effectively combat violent crime in the community by utilizing police dogs and K-9 handlers that are specially trained in crime scene search, suspect apprehension techniques, crowd control and drug detection.

Durham Haus Working Dogs does not use humane society dogs or the dogs out of people's back yards to do any police dog work.   You can cut all the corners you want.   Without a good dog, a canine program will not work, regardless of how good the K-9 handler is.   Many departments have found this out the hard way.   There are some trainers that feel any dog can do police work.   What a myth.   By the time a department with little funds to work with learns the problem of an inferior dog, they have spent all they were allowed and still have nothing.   This is not true when a department has a Durham Haus dog.   Our K-9 teams don't graduate for our K-9 to sit in the car because the dog can't do the work. Many department K-9's can't.   This puts too much stress on a K-9 handler who needs to put his attention on his work at hand, not doubting his dog's capabilities.   Inquire about a Durham Haus Dog for your Law Department K-9 Unit.   Our success rate speaks for itself.
