Durham Haus Working Dogs of ArkansasWhen You Say Dog - Say Durham! The Official Website of Durham Haus Working Dogs of Arkansas since 1996School Services
1991 was a time that drugs were in the school systems accross America.
The smart school systems, such as the Little Rock Arkansas,
hired Durham Haus Working Dogs to help with a program to discourage and
eliminate the drugs out of the school system.
The Superintendent knew the advantages of having professionally trained
K-9 handlers and dogs to periodically check the Little Rock schools.
The intimidation factor was very pronounced after the first school
year. The dogs were making clean runs.
The students were beginning to understand that the Little Rock schools
meant business: No Drugs! The thought of what a dog
could actually smell, especially minute amounts, let the students know to
keep it away from the Little Rock schools.
Colleges in Arkansas have learned how important it is to have qualified
K-9 handler and drug dog teams to periodically check their dorms and parking
lots. The institutions realized that many parents felt more
secure knowing that their children were attending and living in a
drug-free environment.
